Miss Virginia Lee Barber and Mr. Paul David Kerger were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, June 18, at four o’clock in the afternoon at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter in Montgomery. The Reverend Walter Leroy Elam, III, of Fairhope, officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Donald Allan Barber of Montgomery and the late Mr. Barber and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynn Kerger of Prattville and MSgt and Mrs. Anthony Bishop of Elizabethtown, KY.

Virginia is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Jesse Hall Colley of Troy and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Horace Barber of Montgomery. Paul is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Frank Schneider of Harned, Kentucky and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Leo Stephenson of Jacksonville, Florida.

Given in marriage by her brother, the bride wore a strapless gown of white taffeta with a sweetheart neckline, pick-up skirt and chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of Gerbera daisies and roses wrapped with a satin ribbon accented with pearls. Blake Barber Pruitt, sister of the bride, of Millbrook, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Emily Churchill Barber of Montgomery, sister in law of the bride, Carrie April Bush of Prattville, sister of the groom, Jessy Thompson Thorn of Tuscaloosa, cousin of the bride, Elizabeth Ann Smith of Deatsville, Lauren Dean Lane of Montgomery, Blair Christine Wiggins of Mobile and Amy Adams Wright of Dothan. The bridesmaids worn a one-shoulder chiffon dress in clover featuring an asymmetrical neckline with ruching and carried bouquets of gerbera daisies tied with zebra patterned ribbon. Leslie Parent Tingle of Little Elm, Texas and Jaime Hester Lambert of Wetumpka were scripture readers.

Mr. Michael Lynne Kerger, father of the groom, served as Best man. Groomsmen were Allan Colley Barber, of Montgomery, brother of the bride, Zachery Scott Kerger, of Prattville, brother of the groom, Michael Todd Pruitt, brother in law of the bride, of Millbrook, Joel Ryan Jernigan of Mobile, Adam Clayton Battle, Landon Wesley Arnold and Robert James Carter, all of Auburn.

Music was provided by Joel Gregory, organist and Michelle Lott, soloist.

A reception followed at the RSA Plaza in downtown Montgomery. Entertainment was provided by Charlie C and the Cuzmatics. Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Montgomery.
