Troy police arrest robbery suspect

Troy Police arrested 36-year-old James Allen Christian from Troy on two counts of robbery first degree Friday at approximately 9:00 a.m. according to information released by Chief Anthony Everage. Christian was arrested in connection with the Thursday night robbery of Pete’s Package Store on North 3 Notch Street at 10:37 p.m. The arresting officer observed Christian walking Friday morning on the 200 block of Washington Avenue.  When the suspect saw police he immediately ran and after a short foot pursuit he surrendered to police.  He was taken into custody and transported to the Troy Police Department. The suspect took money from the cash register in the business and struck both clerks at the business during the robbery.   Care ambulance responded to the scene checked both clerks.   An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the clerks during the robbery.  Christian fled the scene on foot headed toward Wiley Street.   Christian was also arrested for a parole violation and bond set at $100,000.00.  He has been transferred to the Pike County Jail. This case remains under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
