Nancy Smith

Mrs. Nancy Smith, 71, of Brundidge, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Troy Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Smith will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. John Baptist Church with Rev. Clifford Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Mrs. Nancy Smith was born Jan. 13, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, the only child of the late James Roy Keener and Florence Elenor Keener of Des Moines. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Gene (Diane) Smith, Jr., Brundidge; Greg (Kari) Smith, Bettendorf, Iowa; daughter: Gwynlyn Hoffman, Bloomfield, Iowa; mother: Florence Keener, Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren: Jaclyn Smith Hammond, Dustin Smith, Justin Smith, Dalton Smith, Karyna Smith, Emma Smith, Addy Smith, Elliott Smith, Sara Sims, Mikaela Hoffman and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Keener and a grandchild, Trenton Smith. The family requests memorials to the St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, 2158 County Road 3341, Brundidge 36010.
