Patricia O’Brien

Mrs. Patricia O’Brien of Troy died Friday, May 20, 2011 at Troy Health and Rehab. She was 74. Funeral services for Patricia O’Brien were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Reverend Perry Green officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, La, with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family received friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday prior to the funeral. Mrs. O’Brien was born in Branchville, AL., June 27, 1936 daughter of the late Peter Thomas Hare and Nancy Mae Steed Hare. She is survived by 5 sons and spouses: Thomas (Pat) Pate, Troy, AL; Joel Pate, Oklahoma City, OK; James (Wanda) Pate, John Smith, all of Petal, MS; and Aubrey (Chin Hui) Smith, N.C.; a sister: Martha Jo (Clyde) Beavers, Atlanta, GA;  and a  brother: Pete (Phyllis) Hare, Petal, MS; 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. O’Brien was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Pete Smith and her husband, Joseph P. O’Brien. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Hospice Advantage, P.O.
