Mr. Jack Lewis Powell, age 77, a resident of Troy, died Saturday, May 7, 2011. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Collegedale Church of Christ with the Minister Bobby Templin and Elder Hubert Conner officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Cross Roads Church of Christ Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Mr. Powell will lie-in-state from 1:30 pm until 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the church..

Visitation will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Ruby L. Powell of Troy, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Powell Jordan and Mickey of Dothan, son and daughter-in-law, Alan J. Powell and Alicia of Dothan, 3 grandchildren, Brent Jordan, Quinton Powell, USN and Hayli Powell, siblings, Gladys Medley, Dora Willoughby, Mae Nell Smith and George Powell and sister-in-law, Ethel Powell.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his son Rodney L. Powell, brother, Mixon Powell and parents Albert and Eva Powell.

Pallbearers will be Quinton Powell, Huey Stephens, Bobby Catrett, Steve Powell, Keith Smith and Edward Medley.

Mr. Powell enjoyed driving a truck and fishing and was always thinking of others before himself while going above and beyond to help everyone.
