Relay 2011 features a non-stop lineup of entertainment, games and, of course, lapping the tracking in support of the fundraising efforts to win the battles and ultimately the war with cancer.

Entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. with the SheBANG! Cloggers followed by Tim Cat’s Army at 5:30 p.m.

At 6 p.m. the Opening Ceremony will officially kick off Pike County Relay for Life 2011. Following the National Anthem, everyone will be asked to circle the track and cheer for the survivors as they take their victory lap. The caregivers will join their loved ones on the second lap.

After the survivors and their caregivers have been honored, all Relay for Life 2011 teams will take their first lap.

Entertainment will once again take center stage beginning at 6:45 with the Benton Brothers.

The Celebrity Look Alike Contest will be at 7:05 and games for kids and kids at heart will begin at 7 p.m. with the three-legged race, wheelbarrow race, egg toss and the hula-hoop contest.

At 7:40, three-person Mummy Wrap teams will wrap their “victims” mummy style and then the mummies will hop to the finish line. The first mummy to cross the finish line without coming unwrapped will be the winner.

Following the Mummy Wrap, the Backwards Lap will get underway.

At 7:45 J.B. Roberts and Mike Peacock will perform.

The Flip Flop Lap will be underway at 8:15 and Reddemann’s Karate will perform on stage.

The Red Light/Green Light Lap will begin at 8:30. Chubby Bunny will follow at 8:30 and the Kleenex Game at 8:35.

At 8:40, the Troy School of Dance will present a special tribute to little EB Johnson who lost her battle with cancer.

At 9 p.m. all lights will go out and the Luminary Ceremony will begin. Everyone is asked to remain still and quiet for the reading of the names of those whose battle have been lost, those whose victories have been won and those who are in the fight for their lives.

Following the Luminary Ceremony, the dance competition will be held. The Sunglass Lap will begin around 10:30 and the volleyball championship will be determined during this time.

At 11 o’clock things will be picking up, not winding down, as everyone is invited to participate in musical chairs, limbo, Minute to Win It and a cookie game. Everyone is invited to don their favorite hat for the final lap of Relay 2011 and then gather at center stage for the Oscar Ceremony and the announcement of the Relay totals for 2011.
