Charles G. Lawson, 78, a resident of Mathews, Alabama died on Saturday, April 30, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 2:00pm from Mt. Hilliard United Methodist Church with Rev. Kent Deny officiating. Burial will follow in Ramah Cemetery in Josie, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Myrtle Green Lawson; brothers Billy Lawson and Jerry Lawson.

He is survived by his wife Mae Pritchett Lawson; Daughters Pam (Danny) Thompson of Montgomery, Patti (Odell) Wilhite of Mathews, and Pennie Smith of Mathews; grandchildren Hunter Smith, Hollan Smith, James Wilhite, Alli Wilhite, Joseph Wilhite, Rebekah Wilhite, Michael Wilhite, Derrick (Ammie) Thompson, Dejie (Matt) Guerrier; great-grandchildren Ava Grayce Guerrier, Asa Thompson; brother Johnny “Dee” Lawson of Punta Gorda, FL.

Pallbearers will be Billy Rotton, Steven Rotton, Joe Frank Rotton, Mike Rotton, Jimmy Chance, Johnny Witherington, John Witherington, Josh Lawson, Larry Lawson, Kevin Lawson, Waldon Warr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Strother, Hank Strother, Jim Boswell, Jackie Senn, Billy Henderson, John Henderson, Don Russell, Dr. Reuben Richardson, Herman Rotton, Jerry Godwin, Ed Smith, Phillip Moore, Tommy Byron.
