James Travis Mixon

James Travis Mixon, 68, of Valrico, Fla., passed away March 31, 2011.

He attended Carroll High School of Ozark and graduated from the University of Alabama in 1965. He went to work for the K-Mart Corporation for 26 years. In 1992 he opened a Sir Speedy printing business that he ran until he retired in 2010. He enjoyed being a Rotary Club member as well as a member of the Tampa Bay African Violet Society.

He was the son of Travis and Agnes Mixon, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary F. Glover Mixon; son James E. Mixon (Tonya); grandchildren Julie, Jenna, James Travis II, Joseph and Jessica Mixon of Brandon, Fla.; sister Elena Long (George) of Texas; brother David Mixon (Carolyn) of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge with a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or LifePath Hospice at 3725 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, Fla., 33572.
