It was another day of business at City Hall where the Troy City Planning Commission met to discuss issues on the agenda during Thursday’s meeting.

Mr. Walt Stell, of Environmental Precision Associates LLC, represented the parties in the only two cases that were on the agenda.

The first case involved the request for a final plat approval for the Garden Estates Plat lots located at the south end of East Street in a reserved residential zoning district.

The Planning Commission approved the final plat approval.

The second case discussed during the meeting involved a request for a final plat approval for the re-subdivision of lot number six of Forest Hill Estates Subdivision located on the north side of U.S. Highway 29 and east of Needmore Road in a Light Industrial Zoning District.

The Commission approved the final plat approval.

In other business, the Planning Commission discussed the election of officers.

The nominees were as follows: Bill Hopper (chairman), Greg Wilkes (vice chairman) and Melissa Sanders (secretary).

After the Commission approved the election of officers, a motion to adjourn and reconvene at Asiago’s was made.

The Troy City Planning Commission presented a resolution to Calvin Lott for outstanding service to the community. Lott is retiring with almost 20 years of service working as Troy’s city planner, and it happens to be his second retirement, the first of which was after almost 25 years of community service in Montgomery. “It feels great,” Lott said, jokingly. “It was more fun than I wanted.”

Members of the Troy City Planning Commission said they appreciated Lott’s service.
