Willfred M. Coston Sr.

Services for Wilfred M. Coston, Sr. will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011, at Lily Baptist Church, with Rev. Stanley Gillis officiating.

Burial will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery, Brundidge, Alabama, under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy, Alabama.

Wilfred M. Coston, Sr. was born the child of the late Edward A. Coston, Sr. and the late Hazel Coston Marshall on April 10, 1942. He received Christ under the leadership of Rev. John H. Curry, Sr. at Lily Baptist Church. He met and married Nettie Butts and was married for 43 years and to this union one child was born.

Mr. Wilfred Coston departed this life on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at his home after a brief illness. He was employed as a Security Guard at Lockheed Martin for 9 years. He and his wife loved to travel and his favorite place was Panama City, FL.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife, Nettie Butts Coston; his children, Wilfred (Lois) Coston, Jr., Portsmouth, VA, Reginald R. Coston, Franklin, VA, Valerie (Eugene) Johnson, New York, NY, and Reginald (Pam) Coston, Pontiac, MI; five sisters, Georgia L. Thompson, Chesapeake, VA, Yvonne C. (Bobby) Ellis, Portsmouth, VA, Alexizina (Alton) Mitchell, Portsmouth, VA, Rev. Phyllis Whitehard, Portsmouth, VA, and Brenda A. Marshall, Bowie, MD; one brother, Clarence L. Coston, Westbury, NY; sisters-in-law, Hattie Roberts, Linda Butts, Mattie (Ray) Blair, all of Troy, AL, Minnie Passmore, Denver, CO, and Betty (Michael) Billington, Oak Park MI; brother-in-law, Henry Butts, Miami, FL; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
