Louie Gene Oakes

Louie Gene Oakes, age 66 died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Oakes will be held Friday, February 11, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverends Bob Cox and Sidney Oakes officiating. Burial will follow at the Richland Baptist Church Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Mr. Oakes was the pastor of Monticello Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louie H. Oakes and his mother, Cleone Williams Oakes. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Oakes of Banks, two sons Kenneth Oakes (Teresa) and Keith Oakes (Michelle); one daughter, Kim Henderson (Ricky) all of Banks; five grandchildren, Kendale Oakes, D.J. Oakes, Corey Henderson, Cody Henderson and Justin Oakes; four step-grandchildren, Joseph Russell, Neil Russell , Eric Russell and Paul Shiver; and four step-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Corey Henderson, Marcus Cox, Luther Cox, Jeremy Flowers, Gordan Deese and Willie Ivey.
