Nell Young Cook age 88 a lifelong resident of Elba, Alabama passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Elba on Friday, February 11, 2011 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mart Gray, and Dr. Lance K. Dyess officiating. A private burial will follow. Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Elba on Friday, February 11, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Elba Nursing Home, 987 Drayton Ave., Elba, AL 36323.

Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband Drexel Cook, grandson Drex Guthrie, sisters Annie Jo Ingram, and Sara Gunter, along with two brothers John Young and Fred Young. Survivors include Son-Jimmy (Daphne) Cook of Elba, AL, Daughter-Carla (Gary) Guthrie of Troy, AL, Granddaughter-Christina (Tom) Anderson of Enterprise, AL, Grandson-J.D. Cook, III of Birmingham, AL, Grandson-Adam Guthrie of Birmingham, AL, Great Grandson-Jack Anderson of Enterprise, AL, Great Grandson-Ben Anderson of Enterprise, AL, Great Granddaughter-Lilly Anderson of Enterprise, AL, and Great Grandson-Cade Guthrie of Denver, CO. She is also survived by a brother Ferrell Young of McMinnville, TN along with several nieces and nephews.
