Frederick Harry Howard

Frederick Harry Howard, age 69, of Troy, died Tuesday, February 01, 2011, at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. Howard will be at Good Hope Baptist Church Thursday, February 4, 2011, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Wayne Locklar officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. Howard will be Wednesday, February 3, 2010, from 5 p.m., until 7 p.m., at Green Hills Funeral Home. Green Hills Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Howard was born and raised in Troy,. He attended Good Hope Baptist Church and retired as an investor for Bellsouth after 33 years of service. Mr. Howard also taught mathematics and finance for more than 35 years. He served as an educator at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Samford University, Georgia Tech University, Georgia State University, Oglethorpe University and Troy State University.

Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Ann Howard; two sons, Troy Howard (Jill), Reed Howard (Melanie); one daughter, Jennifer Howard Brown (Michael); one brother, Phil Howard (Lisa); one sister, Miriam Barge (Al); five grandchildren, Aaron Howard, Austin Howard, Amanda Howard, Anna Grace Howard and Caleb Brown; three nephews, Matt McCord, Mark McCord (Stacey) and Josh Howard; one niece, Chelsey Howard; and two special pets, Kitty Kay and Vanessa.

Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Howard will be members of the 1957 Troy High School basketball team: Jim Rose, Ronald Giddens, William (Bill) Davis, Tommy Dillard, Herb Huner and Jimmy Green.
