Aubrey Thomas Johnson

Martinez, GA – Mr. Aubrey Thomas Johnson, 77, husband of 56 years to Mrs. Violeta Novilla Johnson, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. chapel with Rev. Perry Shelfer officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Johnson was born in Goshen, AL to the late Cecil and Lillian Johnson. He retired from the United States Army after 30 years, serving one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Johnson was the recipient of the Bronze Star and was a proud veteran. He was a Mason in the Augusta area for many

years. Mr. Johnson enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Additional survivors include, his daughter, Violet Marie Macky and husband Gary of Evans, GA, his son, Benjamin Aubrey Johnson of Augusta, GA, one grandson, Jared Macky of Evans, GA, one sister, Frances Schofield and husband Mike of Panama City, FL, one brother, George Malon Johnson and wife Sara Nell of Goshen, AL.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
