The Brundidge Business Association will host its annual membership banquet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 at the We Piddle Around Theater.

Tickets for the banquet are $15 each and are available at all three Brundidge banks, First National Bank, Troy Bank & Trust and BB&T. The deadline to purchase tickets is Monday.

Delatha Mobley, BBA member, said the business organization will recognize the Industry of the Year, which is selected by a committee, and the Teachers of the Year, who are chosen by their peers.

“Each year the BBA honors one of our industries and this year, we will honor BEC (Brundidge Electronics Corporation) and its founder Johnny Wright,” Mobley said.

“We will also honor a teacher from each of our schools as Teachers of the Year. Sasha Tuck has been selected from Pike County Elementary School and Anne Rene Bentley from Pike County High School.”

The program for the banquet will include a business progress report by BBA President John Ramage and a city update by Mayor Jimmy Ramage.

“The new officers for the year 2011 will be introduced and we will express appreciation to our 2010 officers who have done an outstanding job of leading our association,” Mobley said.
