Joseph Zell Money Jr.

Services for Joseph Zell Money, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Riverview Baptist Church, with Dr. Mallone Chandler officiating.

Burial will follow at the Carroll Street Cemetery, under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy.

Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy, Alabama.

Joseph Zell Money, Jr. was born in Troy, Alabama on April 8, 1931 to the late Joseph and Mozell Money, Sr. He was the first child of fourteen children.

Joseph joined Morning Star Baptist Church at an early age and later Riverview Baptist Church, both of Troy, Alabama.

He met the love of his life, Mary Ann Wynn Bostic, and united in holy matrimony on September 17, 1951. They were together until God called him home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Money, Sr.; mother, Mozell McClure Money; brother, James Nello Money, and two baby brothers.

His survivors include: his devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Ann Money; two sons, Ray Money, Sr. (Earmie), and Jacob Money (Carolyn), all of Troy, AL; five daughters, Joseph Ann Money Dunham (Cliff) of Columbus, GA, Carylon Money Bennett (James) of Troy, AL, Deidra Sim Starks of Troy, AL, Jacqueline Money Travis (Jerald) of Cantonment, FL, and Tracie London (Hilliard) of Troy, AL; adopted daughter, Valencia Sanders of Lakeland, Florida; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; three brothers, John K. Money (Rebecca) of Troy, AL, Bobby Money (Flora) of Troy, AL, and Richard Money, of Pascagoula, MS; seven sisters, Mamie Halthon (Oliver) of Pascagoula, MS, Margeen McInnis (Arthur) of Moss Point, MS, Emma N. Edmonds of Moss Point, MS, Gloria A. Eskridge (Nathan) of Pascagoula, MS, Armilla Collins (John) of Gautier, MS, Ethel M. Mahone of Troy, AL, and Lillie Robinson (Charlie) of Montgomery, AL; two sister-in-laws, Lillie Mae Bostic of Montgomery, AL, and Inell Wynn Newsom of Coffee County, AL; special brother-in-law, George Bostic (Claudia) of Troy, AL; eighteen nephews; fifteen nieces; two aunts, Willie Mae Taylor of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Annie Ruth Taylor of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
