Ellison H. McDuffie

Ellison H. McDuffie, age 81, born in Holmes County, Fla., and a resident of Perdido, died Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his residence. He was the Principal (retired) at Perdido Jr. High School for 30 years. He was a member of the Bay Minette Masonic Lodge for 50 years, a member of the Abba Temple Shrine and a 32° Scottish Rite Mason.

He is survived by:

His wife of 58 years: Louise Huggins McDuffie of Perdido; 1 Daughter: Kay McDuffie (John P.) Cook of Tuscaloosa; 2 Sons: Geoffrey J. (Brenda) McDuffie of Daphne and Everett Ellison (Theresa) McDuffie M.D. of Johnson City, Tenn.; four grandchildren: Holmes (Megan) Cook of Oxford, Miss., Elizabeth Cook of Tuscaloosa, AL, Morgan McDuffie (Russell) Johnson of Troy, and Seán Ellison McDuffie of Johnson City, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.

The funeral service will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Louis Caballero officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 27, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Perdido School Library, P.O. Box 28, Perdido, AL 36562 or to the Perdido United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 25, Perdido, AL 36562.

Pallbearers will be Winston Weeks, Coleman Weeks, Joe Weeks, Terry McDuffie, Larry McDuffie and Russell Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Masons, Teachers and Retired Teachers.
