Mr. Morris Dewey Davis, Jr. age 82 of Troy died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Good Hope Baptist Church with Reverends Wayne Locklar, W.O. Sanders and Bo Weed officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy Directing.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. There will also be a 1 hour lie-in-state at the church prior to the service.

Morris was a life long member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Josephine P. Davis, 3 daughter and sons-in-law Dr. Deborah Fortune, Judy and Jimmy Blackmon, and Marsha and Charles Chamlies, his grandchildren Rebecca Fortune, Josh Fortune, Chris and April Blackmon, Ashley Blackmon, Hillary Chamlies, Tucker Chamlies, great grandchildren Taylor Blackmon, Cambree Blackmon, Alyssa Pippins and Cody Lane Blackmon, his brother and sister-in-law Emory Max and Mary Joyce Davis, nephew Max Gregory Davis, and niece Patsy Lynn Davis, brothers-in-law William Harold Partin and Rex Brantley Partin.

He was preceded in death by his parents Morris Dewey and Addie Bell Meadows Davis.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Blackmon, Tucker Chamlies, Josh Fortune, Greg Davis, , Kenny King and Billy Joe DeRamus.

Honorary pallbearers will be Elmo Graves, Jimmy King, Leon Flowers, Fred Shirley, Bill Key, Johnny Brabham, Gilbert Sellers, Jr., Edge Senn, Billy Dean, Billy Powell, Joseph and James Sims, Russell Harris and his fellow employees of International Paper Co. and South West Forest from 1957-1987.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Good Hope Church Cemetery Fund.
