The store also offers pieces from Judith March, a designer from Troy.

The business is co-owned by Katy Goodwin and her daughters, Hope, Faith and Hollie Goodwin.

According to Hollie, she and her sisters have always enjoyed shopping and wanted to have their own store.

“It’s something new with more variety that offers something for everyone, not just college students,” said Hollie.

According to Hollie, the store is also the only boutique in Troy to offer plus sizes.

Katy Goodwin says that business has been good so far.

“We’ve been really happy with how everything has been going so far and meeting new people and being able to help them,” Katy said.

When asked of the benefits and drawbacks of being a family owned business, they could only think of the positive.

“We’re all so close, so we can get along,” Hollie said. “We can be more open and opinionated about what we’re carrying.”

“Right now we haven’t really seen many (drawbacks), but we’ve only been open for a week and a half, and it’s our first business,” she added.

The business is inspired by both France and family.

“My mom wanted it to represent us three girls,” Hollie said.

“We came up with sisterly love, and we played around with that and wanted to see how it would be pronounced in French.”

Hollie said that the French translation was a bit much, so they simplified it and came up with Amour, meaning love.

“We wanted to go with the French theme because we went there twice,” Hollie said.

The French influence is apparent in the mood of the store, being decorated with miniature Eiffel Towers.

“Our boutique brings friendly, southern hospitality to Troy.” Katy said.

“We offer affordable prices and great clothing for mothers and daughters.”

“We welcome everyone, and hope to provide a wonderful shopping environment,” she added.

Amour Boutique is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
