Championship round:

Class 1A

Sweetwater defeats Maplseville, 12-8.

Sweetwater forced a second and deciding game in the championship round with the win.

Gamble finished 3-4 with an RBI for SWHS, while While finished 2-4 in the winning effort.

In game two of the championship round, Maplseville defeated Sweetwater, 8-5.

Korteshia Marrow was named tournament MVP thanks to her 2-4 performance at the plate.

One of her hits was a triple that brought home three runs.

2A

American Christian defeats Horsehoe Bend, 16-7.

ACA scored 12 runs in the first three innings, on their way to the nine-run lead.

ACA’s top three batters got on base each of the first three innings, as Dare, Durrett and Patterson combined for nine runs and six RBIs.

On the mound, 2A tournament MVP, Kendall Watson, struck out nine batters, while giving up just six hits.

3A

Sumiton Christian defeats Dadeville, 11-0 in five innings.

SCHS pitcher, E. Ivey, threw a no-hitter in the championship game setting down all 15 batters she saw.

Ivery struckout all the batters, with the exception of two.

Oliver contributed with a Grand Slam in the second inning, making the score 6-0.

She finished 2-4 on the day with four RBIs.

4A

Alabama Christian Academy defeats Corner, 8-2.

Tournament MVP Karisa Foye finished 2-3 with an RBI at the plate for ACA and also struck out three batters at the plate, while just allowing four hits.

Goodman finished 1-3 at the plate with an RBI for ASA as well.

5A

Moody defeats Chelsea, 8-2.

Tournament MVP Jessica Stone took the mound and shut Chelsea down, with six strikeouts and with four assists for outs.

At the plate, she had a RBI-double as well.

Lea Cretchfield went 3-4, with two singles and double with two RBIs.

6A

Dothan 9, Northview 4: Dothan forced an if-necessary championship game as Samantha McDonald pitched five innings to get the win. Kelsey Coleman doubled and singled with three RBIs and Kasey Cooper had two doubles and three RBIs.

Brooke Lee, Samantha Bradley and Kristen McLure each had RBI singles for Northview.

Dothan 7, Northview 0: Tournament most valuable player Katie Andrews took a no-hitter into the sixth and gave up just one hit in six shutout innings, striking out seven. Crystal Anderson hit a pair of triples and scored three runs. Both Dothan and Northview advance to next week’s state tournament.
