“Through the course of our investigation we developed a suspect who subsequently confessed.”

John Foster, 19, of Banks was arrested and charged with the burglary that took place at approximately 1 a.m.

Thomas said a cap was left behind at the scene of the crime and it was determined to have belonged to Foster.

The Sheriffs Department made another arrest in an unrelated case involving theft in Banks.

Jonathan Green, 26, of Ebenezer was taken into custody and charged with theft of property first degree for allegedly entering a property in banks and stealing approximately $3,800 in fishing gear, part of which has been recovered.

Sheriff Thomas said Green has also been charged with a burglary in Bullock County where three televisions, a shotgun, a stereo system and DVDs were stolen. “Most all of that property has been recovered and returned to the owner,” Thomas said.
