A 33-year-old Troy woman suspected to have stabbed a local man was taken into custody Thursday.

Tracy Ann Patterson, 33, is alleged to have stabbed a 22-year-old black male in the chest around 4 p.m., said Troy Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough.

“We responded to an assault on Senn Court,” Scarbrough said. “When police arrived on scene they found a…man with a stab wound in the chest.”

The victim was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center for treatment and has since been taken to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery.

Scarbrough said he was unsure of the motive and relationship between the two at this time. Police continue to investigate the incident.
