It has been a busy week for the Charles Henderson softball team.

And it’s not about to let up anytime soon.

Already, the Trojans have played three games, two against Carroll and another against Rehobeth.

CHHS was able to go 2-1 during that stretch, defeating the Eagles twice on Monday, 5-0 and 9-6, before falling to Rebels on Tuesday 2-0.

Courtney Wood and Hannah Fountain both got the wins on the mound for the Trojans, while Melissa Kennedy received the loss against Rehobeth.

“We had some good hitting from Taylor Smartt, Becca Hartley and (Courtney) Wood,” Trojan head coach Chad Lapp said about the team’s last three games.

Today, the team will travel to Goshen to take on the Eagles, with a 6-9 overall record.

“I expect the momentum gained from earlier this week to continue,” Lapp said.

“Our girls have consistently working hard and doing everything they can to get better.

“We are at a point in the season where we are starting to come together and become a really good team,” the coach added.

Now, the team will look to capitalize on that momentum against its county rivals.

“We know what to expect from them,” Lapp said. “They are a good softball team. The biggest thing for us is to be ready and prepared for them.

“We have to ready to capitalize on good opportunities,” the coach added.

The two Pike County teams will take the field at 4:30 p.m. today at Goshen.
