In his second start of the season, senior Justin McLaughlin was just as effective as the first, tossing four shut out innings, and striking out five while just giving up two hits.

Fellow senior Ross Hixon came in relief or McLaughlin, pitching the final inning.

McLaughlin is now 2-0 on the season.

Leading the way for the Patriots at the plate was senior Will Starling who finished 2-3 with five RBIs, four of which came with one swing of the bat thanks to a Grand Slam.

Sam Carroll and Logan Stewart both finished 2-3, with Stewart adding an RBI.

Blake Floyd went 2-2, knocking in three runs while Lawson Stewart finished 2-2.

PLAS will not hit the road again today, this time heading up to Auburn, where it will take on Lee-Scott in an AISA showdown of ranked teams.

The Patriots enter the game with the No. 4 ranking, while the Warriors are ranked No. 8.
