A Mobile woman was taken to the Pike County Jail early Wednesday morning after being indicted on charges of child abuse.

A grand jury in the Pike County Circuit Court has indicted 27-year-old Ashley Mccree on charges involving child abuse.

According to the indictment, Mccree allegedly bit a child she was responsible for on the stomach, and/or kicked the child on the body and face.

The child’s age and relationship to Mccree are unknown.

Mccree was arrested Wednesday morning by the Troy Police Department and her bond was set at $7,500.

An arraignment hearing has been set for March 29 at 9 a.m.
