The 40th annual AISA All-Star Basketball Classic took place Friday night with three familiar faces apart of the East roster.

Pike Liberal Arts School seniors Rebecca Farrar and Eady Pinkard were selected to the 15-girl roster and were coached by the Patriots’ head coach, Steven Kilcrease.

After trailing throughout much of the game, the East was able to get the better end of the West, winning 79-76.

“It was a really good game,” Farrar said afterwards. “It was really neat to be on the team, playing with the girls we had played against all season long.”

While the senior forward scored just three points in the contest, she said she had a lot of fun – until the end.

“I got kind of nervous towards the end,” she laughed. “But it was a great way to end my season.” Due to a shoulder injury suffered early on, Pinckard was not able to share the same kind of experience as Farrar but said it didn’t matter.

“It was a great honor to be on the team,” she said. “It was very gratifying, I am was so proud to be representing my school, my teammates and my coaches – I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

Senior Justin McLaughlin was also selected to the All-Star team for the East boys roster, however, was unable to play due to a shoulder injury sustained during the region tournament.
