Dazhia Pickett doesn’t know if her appearance on “Time to Shine” tonight will be a stepping stone to her dream career but she is excited about the opportunity.

The weekly documentary airs at midnight on Charter Channel 20, Troy Cable Channel 3 and on the Dish at Channel 22.

Arrangements were made through her mother’s contacts for Pickett to appear on the show.

“The song that I sing is “Gospel Chic,” Pickett said. “It’s one that I wrote and what it’s about is that I’m not too young to praise the Lord.

“I love gospel music. I started singing in church and that’s just the kind of music that I know.”

Pickett is a member of the Charles Henderson High School choral group and also sings with the County Line Baptist Church choir in Brundidge.

She is a sophomore at CHHS and hopes to have a career in gospel music, as a vocalist or a writer or, better still, as both.
