After defeating Enterprise in the it’s season opener Thursday night, the Charles Henderson girls’ varsity softball team looked to continue it’s winning ways.

However, the team ran into two brick walls on Friday night.

The Trojans would drop games to both Headland and Enterprise, to sink its record to 1-2.

“It was nothing like [Thursday] night,” head coach Chad Lapp said Friday night. “We didn’t hit the ball well and we had a lot of errors.”

In the team’s first game against Headland, CHHS lost 2-0.

“We just could not connect with the ball,” Lapp said. “And every time we did, it went to one of their players.”

In the team’s second game against Enterprise, after trailing by three runs in the first inning thanks to two errors, the Trojans were able to rally for a run.

But that would be as close as the team would get as it lost 8-1.

“We had a long talk after the game,” Lapp said.

“How we do the rest of the weekend all depends on the team’s attitude. We were able to beat Enterprise because we kept our heads up, but [Friday night] we kept our heads down.

“The team has no choice – they are going to play better,” the coach added.

CHHS will be back in action today at 10:30 a.m. on the road against Northview.
