The day is finally here

For some, Feb. 3 will be just another day, however for many football players around the country, this will be a day they remember for years to come.

The day that both high schoolers and coaches all across the country have waited for is finally here – National Signing Day.

While there will probably be much rejoicing going on all throughout the nation, if you walk outside, at any given time and listen closely, you will probably here sighs of relief coming from the all the coaches throughout the country.

Make no mistake about it, signing recruits is not as easy as your Playstation or Xbox 360 would have you believe.

The personnel brought it could make or break not just one season, but many.

Plus, at any given time, a recruit could back out – leaving a school scrambling to find a replacement.

Yes, today is exciting for just about everyone – besides the coaches, until those respective names are on the dotted line.

The Troy coaching staff has been busy the past couple of months, trying to find the next Levi Brown or the next Boris Lee.

But this is a familiar position for the coaches – as it is with most other schools.

Before there was Brown and Lee, there was Omar Haugabook and Brannon Condren and so on.

Troy is expecting some where around 25 new players to join the team by Wednesday’s end.

If history serves us as a good indicator, Larry Blakeney and his crew will land the next great Trojan stars for the future.

The Trojans’ dominance over the Sun Belt will continue. The names may change, but the end result will be the same.
