When hearts come together good things happen.

Something good will happen tonight when some of the area’s most popular musicians and singers come together to raise awareness and dollars to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

Those who organized The Help for Haiti “Relief Concert” and those who are participating have taken the attitude, “We may not have much but we have music.”

The concert will begin at 3 p.m. at the Troy University Elm Street Gym.

“In light of the disastrous earthquake in Haiti, thousands of people have been killed, and millions left homeless,” Troy University student Anna Grafton said.

“Many people want to do something but they don’t know what and they don’t know how.”

Grafton said college students don’t have a lot of money to give so they have to find ways to follow their hearts.

By using the medium of music, they believe that they can do much.

Tonight’s Help for Haiti Relief Concert will be run and staffed entirely by college students with some of south Alabama’s best artists, like The J. Harvey Johnson Band, Kenny Heard, The Park Band, and The Rez’s Corey Reznar taking the stage.

For all the Troy Football fans, Trojan legend and possible NFL draft pick Bear Woods and his band of all football players, The Nast Nate Experience, will be playing at the concert.

Other artists include Erica Franklin, Ryan Alan, Fire Mountain, Justin Grimes, Derrick Kinsaul, Bad News Sushi and Ethan Watford.

All the artists are donating their time to help the combined effort to help the people of Haiti and all proceeds will be donated to charity to help the victims of earthquake.

The students have partnered with Troy University and the Troy University Student Government Association to give the south Alabama region an opportunity to give back by coming together on one night, as a community.

This event is targeted at college students to give them a real medium to give to the people of Haiti, but it is open to anyone and everyone interested.
