The Brundidge Business Association will host its annual banquet at the We Piddle Around Theatre tonight at 6:30.

“This year we’ll honor Southern Classic Food Group as our industry-of-the-year,” said John Ramage, spokesperson for the BBA.

Southern Classic Food Group was formed in 2001 and is owned by Chuck Caraway.

“He has made it probably the second largest employer in the community after the Wal-Mart Distribution Center,” Ramage said.

Attendees of the banquet can expect to gain some insight into local industry.

“Chuck will give us some history such as why he chose Brundidge as the site for the facility and what products are made there,” Ramage said. “Most people would be shocked to learn what retail products are made here in Brundidge.”

The BBA will also change officers and honor teachers-of-the-year at the event.

Ramage said that the We Piddle Around Theatre will be a great venue for the banquet.

“The building itself is unique,” he said. “We’re looking forward to having (the banquet) there.”

The approximately 100-seat theatre is also the location where the award-winning folk life play, “Come Home it’s Suppertime”, is shown twice a year.

“Suppertime’s,” Scratch band will perform for audience members while they enjoy catering from Ms. Colleen’s Café.

Anyone interested in attending the banquet should act quickly as seating is limited and almost sold out.
