A 26-year-old Ramer woman was fatally wounded and her young daughter airlifted to the hospital, after her vehicle collided in China Grove Friday.

Marquetta Yvette Dulaney, 26, and her fourteen-month year old daughter were traveling around 5:30 p.m. on County Road 7702 in a Chevrolet Lumina when the crash occurred, according to Alabama State Trooper Spokesman Kevin Cook.

Cook said the initial investigation indicates Dulaney was traveling above the posted speed limit when she ran off the road.

“Dulaney over-corrected the vehicle, lost control, over-turned and struck a tree,” Cook said.

The two were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle.

Dulaney’s daughter was air-lifted to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, where Cook said she is listed in stable condition.

Dulaney was pronounced dead on the scene by Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams.
