Billy Spear Floyd, a life-long resident of Troy, Alabama, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009, following an extended illness. He was 73. A graveside service conducted by Pastor George Merritt, honoring the life of Mr. Floyd, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Green Hills Funeral Home on Friday, December 18, 2009, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Floyd was the son of the late Pugh and Daisy Mae Floyd and brothers Buck and Jerry Floyd. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Eunice Lee Sanders Floyd, daughter, Terry Sonya Floyd Henry (Brian), Mother-in-law, Duva Wilson Carter, two sister-in-laws, Shellie Sue Sanders Adams (Ben) of Pace, FL and Nellyne Sanders Weston (Bill) of Ramer, AL and one step brother-in-law, Richard C. Carter (Karen) of Birmingham, AL and several nieces and nephews. Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Floyd family.
