George Roberts

Mr. George Douglas Roberts age 67 passed away at his home Sunday, November 22, 2009 after an extended illness.
Mr. Roberts was born in Pike County, Alabama on October 21, 1942. He wa one of Seventeen children and spent much of his boyhood in the Ozark area. In 1957, he moved to Montgomery, Alabama where he became a Master Mechanic and Automobile repair technician. He practiced his trade for 47 years. Mr. Roberts had a love for old cars and was noted for his ability to “fix anything”.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents Cleve and Beatrice Roberts, his brothers Bernie Senn, John Wesley Senn, Lamar Roberts, John L. Roberts, Marel Roberts, his sisters Jewell Senn, Helen Senn and Lamerel Richards.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Sara Baker Roberts, Children Anthony (Melissa) Roberts, Keith (Starla) Roberts and Cynthia Pilkington, stepchildren Dusty Roberts, Jessie Tinsman, Grandchildren, TJ Roberts, Sean Pilkington, great grandchild Nina Roberts, brothers and sisters Nina Senn, Ruth Moore, Henrietta Hicks, James Senn, Grover (Jane) Roberts, David (Jackie)Roberts, Aaron (Chris) Roberts, Many Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge with Reverend Winston Brook officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday for 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Dusty Roberts, Dewayne Smith, Donnie Powell, Terry Lowe, Rodney Graham, and Jerry Senn.
