Special music will be presented by the County Line Baptist Church and Salem Baptist Church choirs.

The Rev. Bobby Hood, Salem Baptist Church pastor, said the Community Thanksgiving Service is an opportunity for everyone in the Pike County community to come together to worship.

“There are only a couple of times a year that we have a community-wide worship service,” Hood said.

“We acknowledge one God and only one God and, although we have different parts of the Bible that we cling to or camp on, it doesn’t make any difference.”

Thanksgiving and Easter are the times when the community comes together in worship.

“That people from all walks of life can come together, worship together and enjoy the fellowship of one another says something really great about God,” Hood said.

“Our Community Thanksgiving Service crosses all denominational, all worship and all racial lines.

“No one is left out who wants to be a part. So, we invite everyone to come worship with us in the spirit of Thanksgiving.”
