Funeral services for Tonia Rodgers Ellis, 44, of Decatur, who died Friday, Nov. 20, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at Decatur Presbyterian Church with the Rev. J. Thomas Lee, senior pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery immediately following the church service.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Ellis was born Feb. 25, 1965, in Hueytown, Ala., the daughter of Roy Rodgers and Sally Rodgers. She received a bachelor’s degree in education at Troy University was an active member and teacher of children and youth at Decatur Presbyterian Church. She loved gardening, her family, her friends and her church.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sally Rodgers; and her grandparents, Percy and Ruby Dew and Grandmother and Wilmer Rodgers.
Survivors include her husband, Emory Ellis; two sons, Earl Ellis III and William Ellis; two daughters, Gabriella Ellis and Alexandra Ellis; her father, Roy Rodgers; a brother, Tommy Rodgers; and a sister, Melissa Rodgers.
Pallbearers will be Russ Harrelson, Al Bracewell, Chip Walraven, Blake Temple, Greg Smith, George Godwin and Kent Quin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Bright, Bill Cunningham, Ken Foster, Jerry Beverly, Steve Southerland, Steve Dabbs, Steve Singletary, Troy Anderson, Sam Sardusky and Lee Sexton.
Memorial gifts can be made to the Neighborhood Christian Center, Decatur, Ala.
