An Alabama State Trooper experienced non-life threatening injuries after his patrol car was struck while he was attempting to make a traffic stop south of Brundidge Monday afternoon.

The officer, whose name has not been released, was attempting to turn his marked patrol unit around in the northbound lane of U.S. 231 south between Brundidge and Hamilton Crossroads in southern Pike County, according to Trooper Spokesman Kevin Cook.

Cook said the trooper had his blue lights activated when his car was struck by a Dodge pick up traveling north.
