Mr. Gerald Childs, 60, of Troy, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 in Geneva, Ala.
Graveside service for Mr. Gerald Childs will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Price officiating.
Burial in church cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. He will lie in state at the chapel from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service. We will go in possession to the cemetery.
Mr. Childs was born Aug. 9, 1949 in Pike Co., Ala. to the late K.A. and Vada Holloway Childs.
He was self-employed in the seafood industry.
He is survived by sons and wife: Tony and Lori Swindall, and Matthew Childs; daughter and husband Michell and Travis Marsh; three grandchildren, Blake Childs, Bryant Swindall and Brody Marsh, sister and husband, Jean and Mike Fortune, all of Troy, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by infant sister: Martha Jo Childs.
Pallbearers are Tracey Hinton, Gere Spivey, Chap Swindall, Scott Fortune, Michael Redmon and Jason Youngbood.
