The Troy Trojans entered its game with the Arkansas Razorbacks riding a seven-game winning streak, however, by the time the final horn sounded that was no longer the case.

The Razorbacks were able to jump all over the Trojans early and often in Fayetteville, Ark. as Trojans dropped its first game since the middle of September, losing 56-20.

“You got to know how to deal with winning and losing,” Troy head coach Larry Blakeney said during Monday’s press conference.

“It’s one of those games that you have to forget about as soon as it’s over. It is never an easy task to play SEC teams, but I think the gap is narrowing between Sun Belt teams and the SEC.

“All of me is happy to be back focusing on Sun Belt play,” the coach laughed.

The 56 points allowed by the Trojan defense is the most since its last loss when it gave up 56 points to the Florida Gators. The defense also gave up nearly 600 yards to the Razorbacks, 592, most of which came from the arm of sophomore quarterback Ryan Mallett, who finished the game completing 23 or his 30 passes for 405 yards and five touchdowns.

“He is pretty good, other than Levi [Brown],” senior cornerback Courtland Fuller said.

“He put the throws on the money – he made some NFL-type throws.”

Now, the Trojans will look to wrap up the Sun Belt championship this weekend when the team plays host to rival Florida Atlantic this Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
