Congressman Bobby Bright was in Brundidge Monday afternoon.

Bright was on a four-city tour Monday traveling from Brantley to Elba to Brundidge before ending up at the Pike County Cattleman’s Association meeting.

Bright said he had a round table discussion with people in the logging, agriculture and public housing sectors at Michael’s Southern Foods in Brantley before making his way to Elba to meet with the mayor and elected officials.

While in Elba he also spoke to a government class at Elba High School and visited with the football team, which has so far had a perfect season, and band.

Making his way to Brundidge Station for office hours as part of his mobile congressional office, Bright met with Pike County residents who showed up on a one-on-one basis.

Residents had the opportunity to talk to Bright about whatever issues they wished.

The Congressman held conferences from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Just what issues are constituents speaking to Bright about these days?

Bright said people have talked to him about wide array of things, including citizenship, health care, veterans affairs and banking just to name a few.

District Director Al Allenback said the Congressman’s team could help with issues.

“If someone has an issue, we take info and work on the case,” Allenback said.

Bright said the most important thing is accessibility.

The congressman will be back in Troy at Julia’s or Sister’s for coffee, then will visit a VA clinic in Dothan and will also have office hours in Dothan from 2 to 4 p.m., before heading back to Troy for another event at the Pike County Cattleman’s building.

“Troy is a very convenient place in the district,” Bright said.
