In a game that occurred during a full moon on the creepiest night of the year, everyone in Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium got their first real scare of the season.

For the first time in almost two months, the Troy Trojans looked somewhat human on the field against Louisiana-Monroe. The unstoppable offense stalled and the unmovable defense fell through. But, like they have done before, the Trojans found a way to win.

Scares like the one the Trojans experienced last night are good though. In the long run, blowouts are not going to make the Trojans better, its the nail biters that will.

While the score may show a large victory, it was a lot closer than the 21-point win.

This game was unlike the others, even if it started out the same way as the other Trojan victories this season. Troy got off to a big start, but the Warhawks wouldn’t go down – they fought back.

For a time, it looked as if the Trojans were a bit confused, unsure of what was happening. However, despite the Warkhawks’ persistence, the Trojans stood tall.

Everyone knew what was on the line when the two teams entered the stadium and both teams played like a championship was on the line.

But in the end, fortunately for Troy, it came down to play markers and there ability to effect the game.

In what could have been the most important game of the season, quarterback Levi Brown and wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan each had career days.

Each had been in a situation like this before, and it showed. This is what separates Troy from everyone else in the Sun Belt.

Sure an offense can pour on the points and a defense can punish, but there comes a point in every season where a team is tested. How a team responds to that test is more important than everything else.

Troy took its test last night and passed with flying colors.
