The women’s team finished in fourth place with 71 points, trailing Samford, South Alabama and Alabama State University who had 31 points, 65 points and 67 points, respectivily.

“Everyone ran outstandingly today,” Troy head cross country coach Stephane Hetherington said this afternoon.

“There wasn’t one person on this team who didn’t run well – everyone made improvements from earlier meets.

Out of the 52 collegiate runners competing in the men’s meet, Troy had four finish in the Top 25 – including the number one overall collegiate winner.

Senior Jeremy Moujoodi took top collegiate honors on Saturday morning, as well as finished fourth overall with a time of 15:20.97.

As soon as the men were done running, it was the women’s turn to follow suite.

Kelly Harrington led the way for the Trojans, as she finished with a time of 11:54.33, which was good enough for 13th overall.

“We were strong up and down. Our middle runners really closed the gap between our top runners today,” Hetherington added.

The coach went on to say that his runner were not too affected by the weather, despite the drastic change in the temperature during the past couple of days

“We have run in a lot of different climates, hot, rainy, warm, so running in this was not too bad.” The temperature was close to 40 degrees at the start of race. “I thought we raced much better today then we had all season long, on both sides” Hetherington said.

“We did a good job of defending home territory,” he added.
