Six charged with stealing

Six local men were arrested this week, after a vehicle and home were broken into last month.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said the incidents were unrelated, but after weeks of investigation, the department has arrested its suspects.

The sheriff’s department received an initial complaint that a vehicle was broken into Sept. 4 in the Enon Community on County Road 6631.

Thomas said a New England Arms caliber 22 single shot with a scope, a 22-revolver pistol, camouflage holster and a pair of binoculars was reported stolen.

This week, Justin B. Shepherd, a 21-year-old white male of Troy; Patrick K. Zellers, a 19-year-old white male of Banks; and Justin Kelly, a 19-year old white male of Troy have all been arrested and charged with theft of property second degree.

Thomas said all of the stolen property has been recovered.

In an unrelated incident, Thomas said three others were arrested and charged with burglarizing a home on Country Road 3314 in Springhill.

The incident was reported Sept. 20.

Justin Davis, a 20-year-old black male of Troy; Antavious Berry, a 22-year-old black male of Troy; and Nicholas D. Stallworth, a 21-year-old black male of Troy all face charges of burglary third degree from the incident.

Thomas said reported stolen were a hand gun, a Dell and Compaq computers, DVDs, assorted jewelry, a DVD player, a CD-player and assorted prescription medicine.

The Dell computer has been recovered.
