Big shoes to fill –that’s what Melissa Ingram said about being the newly appointed Pike County Board of Registrars.

Ingram was appointed by Alabama Gov. Bob Riley after the sudden death of Evelyn Morgan.

Ingram just happens to be Morgan’s granddaughter in law.

“Ms. Morgan was very special to me, since she was my Momo since I was 15,” Ingram said.

“I realize that I have some big shoes to fill by replacing Ms. Morgan,” Ingram said.

In serving Pike County residents, Ingram said she realizes that she will make important decisions that will directly affect the residents of Pike County.

“I plan to serve the citizens of Pike County with my priority being honesty and integrity,” Ingram said. “I will be working hard to instill trust in our county government.”

Ingram said she hopes to set a standard for others to follow.

Ingram is active in the Pike County Community, currently serving as the vice president of the Pike County Board of Realtors, Pike Liberal Arts School Board, past member of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce membership committee and past member of board of directors for the American Cancer Society,

She has coordinated the Relay for Life golf tournament for the past five years and assisted with the First United Methodist Church golf tournament, where she and her family have been members, for the past three years.

Ingram is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Alabama, and currently works as a sales associated with David Adams Realty, where she focuses on residential sales, rental property management, commercial property sales and land sales.

She attended Troy University and worked with Auburn University and served as the office manager at Gibson & Carden for 12 years.

Ingram is married to Chuck Ingram, an architect with McKee and Associates. They have two children Alex and Austin Ingram.
