Mrs. Julia Wilks Davis, age 89 a resident of Luverne, died Friday, September 15, 2009. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 3:00 pm from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Reverend Frank Lowery, Reverend Donnie Burns and Reverend W.O. Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be held Sunday, from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her sisters: Cora Frye and husband Robert of Foley and Rebecca Wilkes of Troy; 3 brothers, Leven Hughes of Troy, Charles and Hughes and wife Barbara of Goshen and James and Hughes and wife Annis of Goshen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her first husband Vernon Wilks and second husband M.J. Davis and her parents John A. and Louie Belle Hughes.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Davis, Carroll Hughes, Tim Hughes, Randy Hughes, Steve Wilkes and Kevin Stephens.
