Charles R. Ash, age 78, passed away August 12, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 15, 2009, in the Green Hills Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Alsup of First Presbyterian Church of Troy officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service. Mr. Ash is survived by his wife Polly Sue West Ash, daughter Sue Ash of Montgomery, Alabama, son Jeff Ash of Mountain Brook, Alabama, and his wife Sherry Ash, and grandchildren Lawrence Fletcher Ash and Samuel Frederick Ash. Mr. Ash was a past member of the Troy Masonic Lodge #56, a Shriner, and a member of the McDonald’s Coffee Club. Mr. Ash was on the Board of Directors of Pike Liberal Arts School, and has been a Deacon and an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, and was an Assistant Boy Scout Leader. The family requests donations to the Shrine Children’s Hospital or the First Presbyterian Church of Troy. Mr. Ash will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
