Mr. George B. Meeker, age 90, of Troy, died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at Troy Regional Medical Center in Troy. Graveside Services for George B. Meeker will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bo Weed officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Mr. Meeker was born July 8, 1919, in Bon Secour, Alabama in Baldwin County. Mr. Meeker was a foreman in the construction industry as a homebuilder and he also worked at the shipyard in Mobile, AL. He was a Grand Moose and a 32nd degree Mason.
Mr. Meeker was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Christina Cobren Meeker.
He is survived by his wife: Julia Hayes Meeker, Troy, AL; son and daughter-in-law: Ed and Marjorie Meeker, 2 grandchildren: Troy and Whitney Meeker, and a great grandchild, Isabelle Villavisencio all of Phoenix, Arizona.
