Services for Effie Lee “Doll” Cooper Ousley, 81, who died August 7, 2009 at home will be at 11 a.m. August 13, 2009 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Troy.
Mrs. Ousley was born December 27, 1927 in Hurtsboro. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Geal Chapter #25 O.E.S and Ladies Aid Missionary Society. She enjoyed working in the yard, singing, sewing, cooking and serving God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mixon Ousley; parents, George and Mattie Cooper; four brothers, B.C., Willie, George Jr. and Tommie Cooper and one sister, Lizzie B. Tolbert.
Survivors include three daughters, Willie Collins (George Jr.) Tolbert of Birmingham, Gennie Ousley (Lamon Jr.) Merritt of Troy and Sara Ousley (Randolph) Bynum of Powder Springs, Georgia; eight sons, Eddie B. (Phyllis) Cooper and Vinnie Lee (Andrene) Cooper both of Birmingham; Charlie Lee Cooper Pollard of Gary Indiana, B.C. Cooper of Brewton, Major (Polly) Ousley of Grady, Mixon (Pearl) Ousley of Banks, Ledell Ousley of Troy and Aslie Lee (Brenda) Ousley of Brundidge; two step-daughters, Sara Collins Ward and Annie Jewel Knight of Troy, six sisters, Mattie Riouse of Flint, Michigan, Rebecca Hubbard, Rejulia Fox and Carrie Filer of Birmingham and Leola Cooper, Mary Leonard and Clara Johnson of Hurtsboro; two brothers, Ike Cooper of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Charlie Mack Cooper of Birmingham; two half sisters, Annie Johnson and Ethel Weaver of Florida; 35 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a special family friend, Wanda Salter of Elba and several other family members and friends.
