Mr. Floyd W. Porter age 92 of Troy died Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 11:00 am from the First United Methodist Church in Troy with Reverend David McVay officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy Directing.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law Curtis H. and Diane Porter of Troy, and David and Sandra Porter of Trapper Creek, Alaska, Grandchildren Jeannie (Robert) Birmingham, Sidney Michelle (Neal) Armstrong, Leslie (Craig) Garrison, Jennifer (Kirk) Stephens, Nathaniel Porter, and Daniel Porter, great grandchildren Kristen Elmore, Robert Porter Birmingham, Sidney and Addison Armstrong, Connor and Grant Garrison, Lawson, Gage and Barrett Stephens, a brother Julian Porter, brother-in-law Harold Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Hunter Porter and a grandson Mathew Porter. Memorials may be made to the Troy University Baseball foundation.
