Services for Steve Lloyd Rodgers, age 44, who died Saturday, August 1, 2009, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at County Line Missionary Baptist Church, Brundidge, Alabama, with Rev. Carl
Hollis, officiating.
Burial will follow at the County Line Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Brundidge, Alabama, under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009 at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy, Alabama.
Mr. Steve Lloyd Rodgers was born the fourth child of Jimmie Leverette and the late Annie Lois Frazier Rodgers on May 3, 1965. He received Christ under the leadership of Carl Hollis at County Line Missionary Baptist Church, Brundidge, Alabama. He met and married Teresa Ann Burden Rodgers on September 25, 1997 and to this union three children were born.
He raduated from Pike County High School and was employed by The Troy University Police Department until he departed this life at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery, Alabama with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Lois Rodgers, one sister, Christine Rodgers, and one niece, Althea Rodgers.
He leaves to cherish all his fond memories: a devoted wife, Teresa Rodgers; three sons, Steven R. Rodgers, Stevie C. Rodgers and Ste’fon A. Rodgers; his father, Jimmie Leverette; his sisters and brothers, Altha Mae Johnson, Yolanda (William) Griffin, Theresa (Jimmy) mith, Kim (Terry) Flowers, Romaris (Teloria) Rodgers, all of Brundidge, AL, and Thomas (Angela) Rodgers of Atlanta, GA; his sisters – i n – l aw and brothers – i n – l aw,
Melvin Burden, Calvin Burden, Michael Burden, Ricky B u rden, Ru by Debose, Janice Upshaw and Twanda Burden; one aunt, Cora Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loving friends.
